On July 1-3, just before the national holiday of Independence, Hearken Studios is hosting "The Connection", a Christian music conference for independent artists at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Dallas, Texas.

The purpose and mission of Hearken Studios is supporting Christian artists wanting to further the kingdom of God through music by developing their music ministry or expanding a currently existing ministry. The conference features a handful of independent artists who will have their performances broadcasted and taped on television camera crew on a concert stage for future promotions on TV and the internet. TBN, who will also be attending the event will be looking for potential artists for broadcast performance opportunities. Food For the Hungry and Extreme Tours will be recruiting artists to open upcoming tours.

The Director of Hearken Studios Audrey Brooks says, “The Connection is designed to be a launch pad for Christian artists wanting to develop their music ministry into a career. Every artist is seeking something different and their goals are as diverse as their style of music."

The leaders of the music industry will gather to hold a series of workshops called “It's the Ministry, Not the Industry" that will be covering a variety of topics about music ministry handling for artists, including self-management and promotion, legal aspects, distribution, and even the spiritual aspect of being an artist and developing artist testimony.
