Chris Tomlin Announces Upcoming "Arriving" Worship Album

( [email protected] ) Jun 03, 2004 04:37 PM EDT

Chris Tomlin has announced the title of his third album. Arriving arrives in stores everywhere September 21.

Tomlin is recognized as one of the leaders in the Passion worship movement and for writing such definitive new church songs as "Forever" and "The Wonderful Cross" (both recorded by Michael W. Smith). Anticipation for Arriving began weeks ago when it was made known that Tomlin would be a special guest on Steven Curtis Chapman's fall 2004/spring 2005 tour.

In addition to his work as a recording artist, Tomlin, a Texas native, is a founding member and lead worshiper of the Austin Stone Community Church. The congregation ministers to students at the University of Texas at Austin, the largest college in the nation with almost 50,000 students representing all 50 states and 115 foreign countries.

"Chris, at the heart, is a pastor," says Matt Carter, Austin Stone Community Church pastor. "It has never been about his career. He is driven by one passion, and that is the building of the Kingdom."
