SCC’s fourteenth studio release, All Things New (Sparrow), made its debut at No. 1 on the Contemporary Christian Charts. The album, which also entered the Billboard Top 200 at No. 22, has sold 38,289 units since its release on September 21st.

On the heels of the release, Chapman has graced numerous magazines (Billboard, R&R, CCM, Christian Music Planet and more) in addition to hitting the top of the radio charts (R&R AC and INSP) for the 42nd time with the title track from “All Things New.” The next single, “Much Of You,” was added to play lists on Friday.

To promote the album, Chapman will kick off the “All Things New Tour” on the 21st of this month, playing at the Coliseum in El Paso, TX. The 75+ city tour will be held in large venues all across the country and feature special guests Chris Tomlin and Casting Crowns. For more information on the tour, go to www.stevencurtischapman.com.

Additionally, Chapman has been nominated for his third American Music Award in the category of Favorite Inspirational Artist. The nomination follows the artist’s win in the category at last year’s AMA’s, in which Chapman also participated as a presenter. The Awards will air live on ABC Sunday, November 14th.

Chapman and his wife Mary Beth have also co-authored their first children’s picture book in a series about adoption. The first installment, titled “Shaoey & Dot: Bug Meets Bundle,” features their adopted daughter, Shaohannah, nicknamed Shaoey (pronounced “Show-ee”). “Shaoey & Dot,” retells the adventure of her adoption from China. The book is distributed through Tommy Nelson. Shaohannah was the first child the Chapman’s adopted from China in March 2000 and is now six. In May of 2003 they brought home Stevey Joy Ru, now three, and their most recent adoption is Maria Sue, age one, who joined the family this summer
