Kampala -- According to New Vision, the African Renewal Ministries (ARM), a Christian charity organization based in Kampala, has donated four tons of food to the internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Lira.

JP Kiberu, ARM’s relief project coordinator, said ARM was originally offering programs in Soroti district but they moved their focus to Lira because of the growing number of IDPs.

The food items including 3 tons of maize flours, 11 tons of beans, and 600 Kg of salt would be carried out by Victory Outreach Ministries (VOM), a local NGO based in Lira.

ARM's relief project coordinator JP Kiberu said ARM also provides training programs for women living on campus to know how to prepare food for malnourished children.

The district was appreciated for the help but asked for medicare facilities on top of more food.
