After two years of preparation, around 4,000 people from over 80 countries attended the 8th CBMC World Convention held in Seoul, South Korea from July 20-23. With the theme of "Celebrating 75 years of Working in the Marketplace with Him", CBMC members and families from all seven continents attended this three day conference.

Teams of CBMC Korea and CBMC China had attempted to secure permission to hold the Convention in Beijing, but by December of 2004, they found out that it was not God's timing for China. It was then decided that Korea CBMC will host the convention.

CBMC International has grown from a small group of business and professional leaders in Chicago to an active global ministry on six continents.

CBMC began in the United States when a group of Christian businessmen coordinated a series of pre-Easter rallies in 1930, second year into the Great Depression. Seening the need for a spiritual revival in Chicago area, they held a six week evangelistic crusade at Garrick Theatre, located in downtown Chicago. Over 800 people showed up at that time. Because the public response was overwhelming, more meeting times were setup, and similar groups were being started in several other large cities througout the country, and their work spread through out the world.

Up until today, there are autonomous CBMC organizations in individual countries as governing powers, and international Board of Directors who oversee the work around the world, setup strategies to and show how they can be adapted in different national environments to successfully present the Gospel to non-Christians.

CBMC president, Bob Milligan said, "As an international business executive, I can think of nothing more significant in life than to have an impact on the global marketplace with the life-changing message of Jesus Christ."

The seminar topics for the convention are Women's Interests, CBMC General Interests, Forums & Global Expansion, Panel discussion of World Updates, Establishing Ethnic Groups In Other Countries, Development of CBMC College, Crown Financial Ministry, Alpha, Christ in the Marketplace, Ministry in China, Ministry in North Korea, Spiritual Warfare, Prayer, Team-building, Leadership, Discipleship, Evangelism.

After the convention ended, attendants were given options to participate into two post-convention tour activities. They are Four-day visit to China and Mt. Kumang in North Korea.

"Together with thousands of business and professional leaders from around the world, we are Working in the Marketplace with Him," said Bob Milligan.
