World Vision Holds Public Forum in Fight Against HIV/AID

PHILADELPHIA -- World Vision, a leading Christian relief organization, is planning hold public forum to rally people to join its Hope Initiative effort to combat HIV/AID globally Thursday, March 18, in Philadelphia.

World Vision will feature 30 guest speakers, including the head of International AIDS Trust, Sandra Thurman; former U.S. Surgeon General C. Everett Koop; and World Vision president Richard Stearns. They will discuss AIDS projections, government funding, and action plans such as having U.S. churches assist "sister parishes" or individual AIDS orphans in affected parts of Africa. About 200 area church leaders have been invited to the free forum.

The conference will take place at 9:30a.m. at the Lowes Philadelphia Hotel.
