The South East Asia disaster is the worst in 40 years say many experts. The death toll have now exceeded 150,000.

The devastating tsunami has casted a dark shadow over global New Year festivies. Government officials worldwide have reportedly banned firework displays, canceled public concerts, and stopped celebrations in favor of holding nationwide prayer events in memory of tsunami victims.

This marks a somber New Year's following the earthquake-tsunami disaster. Nonetheless, many seek hope and comfort through prayers.
