Can I Really Win over Satan?

Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. 1 Peter 5:8

If you were in a battle with a very strong enemy all by yourself, do you think you could win? No! However, if you were in a battle with that same enemy and had the biggest and the strongest helper, could you win? Yes!

The Bible tells us about a man who lived a long time ago. His name was Elijah. One day, God asked Elijah to do something very scary. God asked Elijah to go to the king and tell him God was going to punish all the people because they were doing very bad things. The people were serving Satan, not God. The king got very angry and tried to kill Elijah, but Elijah escaped. Elijah continued living and serving God. How did that happen? What made it possible for Elijah to win? He didn't have any super power. The Bible says he was just like you and me. He won because he had God on his side. If you know Jesus as your Savior, He is on your side, too. When you have Jesus, the Bible says, " . . . the one who is in you [Jesus] is greater than the one who is in the world [Satan]" (1 John 4:4). With Jesus you can win.
