Oscars Tonight: ''Les Miserables'' Movie Nominated for Eight Awards

"Les Miserables" movie released in 2012 received eight Oscars nominations, including Best Picture.

Adapted from the 1989 Broadway production, the movie tells a man’s journey after experiencing grace from a benevolent bishop.

On Feb. 15th, the movie won the grand prize at the “Oscars of Christian films.” Tony Award actor Joe Mantegna announced “Les Miserables” as the winner of Epiphany Prize for most inspiring movie at the 21st Annual Movie Guide Awards.

In January, Academy of Motion Picture Arts released the nominations for 2013 Academy Awards.

Among the nominations, Les Miserables is nominated for Best Picture, Best Actor (Hugh Jackman), Best Supporting Actress (Anne Hathaway), Best Costume Design (Paco Delgado), Best Makeup and Hairstyle (Lisa Westcott and Julie Dartnell), Best Original Song (Suddenly, Music by Claude-Michel Schonberg; Lyric by Herbert Kretzmer and Alain Boublil), Best Production Design (Eve Steward; Set Decoration: Anna Lynch-Robinson) and Best Sound Mixing (Andy Nelson, Mark Paterson and Simon Hayes),

The Oscars, hosted by Seth MacFarlene, will air tonight on ABC at 8:30 p.m. ET/ 5:30 p.m. PT. Red carpet begins at 7 p.m. ET. Click here to watch live stream footage of the event.

The film’s DVD and Blue-ray is available for pre-order and will be released on March 22, 2013.
