Chris Brown: ''I Lost Everything' After Rihanna Assault

R&B singer Chris Brown confessed on Monday’s Today show with Matt Lauer that what he did to Rihanna the night before 2009 Grammy Awards was “totally wrong”, and he is trying to “avoid focusing on the negatives” as he tried to regain his reputation.

“I’ve been humbled by the whole experience,” Brown, 23, told Lauer, according to NBCNews.com. He said he lost everything and had to “regain public opinion”.

Despite Brown’s repentant tone, Today’s anchor called out his argumentative behavior over the past few years, such as attacking his followers and other celebrities on Twitter and the alleged altercation with R&B star Frank Ocean.

Brown responded, “I think everybody is entitled to their opinion. For me, it’s just a learning process. You know, I have to just take it one day at a time. I can’t make everybody like me… it’s about me being positive.”

Brown, who is promoting his current album X, said “everything’s good” with Rihanna, 25.

“I think it’s just me proving myself once again. Knowing that what I did was wrong, and never doing it again. So as far as me and [Rihanna] are concerned, she knows my heart, and I know her heart. So I’m not really focused on the negatives.”
