Q-and-A with Jeremy Lin

Jeremy Lin participated in a question and answer session on Facebook as part of his Fan Appreciation Week Monday evening. The NBA point guard was asked a myriad of questions from fans, with topics ranging from food preferences to his favorite players in the NBA and his faith.

Lin joked along with fans about his new hairstyle, and gave a light-hearted answer to many of their comments. He also answered several questions about his faith – when asked what Jesus meant to him, he said, “everything...without Him I wouldn’t have a purpose in life.” Lin said that he is currently reading “The Discipline of Grace” by Jerry Bridges, and that one of his favorite Bible verses is Philippians 4:7 – “And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus” (English Standard Version).

The Houston Rockets player was asked about the San Francisco City Impact, a Christian organization that he has been involved in which meets spiritual, social, and educational needs in the city. Lin said that his favorite part about it was the perspective he gained from “watching people spread God’s love to the underprivileged.”

When asked how he could possibly have over 1,000 comments on a session that was less than ten minutes old, Lin replied, “Because I have the most enthusiastic fans ever…which is why I want to do this fan appreciation week!”

A Houston Rockets artwork contest will take place tonight, and winners will be awarded an autographed poster of the player’s new movie, “Linsanity.”
