Many speculate that Tim Tebow’s recent move to the New England Patriots will help the young NFL player greatly improve as a quarterback. Tebow signed a two-year contract with the Patriots today, and is expected to be the third-string quarterback for the team behind Tom Brady and Ryan Mallett.

Sports analysts say that although Tebow may not get much playing time, he will greatly benefit from playing on the New England Patriots team. Damien Woody from ESPN said that it will be “a perfect situation for Tim Tebow because he’s going to … [get] great coaching … learning from a Hall of Fame quarterback … he’ll have time to develop.”

New England Coach Bill Belichick believes that Tebow will be an asset to the New England Patriots as well. He says that signing Tebow was “what we feel is in the best interest of the team. Tim’s a talented player that’s smart and works hard.”

There has been some speculation that the Patriots might use the former New York Jets player at a position other than quarterback, in light of recent injuries on the team. However, Tedy Bruschi from ESPN doesn’t think that Tebow will play any other position besides QB. “They’ve brought him in to learn under Tom Brady … to teach him … they want Tim Tebow to play quarterback,” he said. Bruschi said that the young NFL player is there to learn so that he can help the team later on.

In a statement to the press earlier today, Tebow said that it was an honor to play for the Patriots - “It’s going to be a lot of fun. I’m looking forward to working hard every single day and getting a lot better, and learning under some great people … Thank y’all so much and God bless.” He will wear jersey number 5 for the Patriots, his old high school number.
