The British Open Championship has officially kicked off on Thursday and with a number of high profile names in the field, the spotlight is still on world's no. 1 Tiger Woods.

There are a host of other top golfers challenging, including Rory McIlroy, Adam Scott and Justin Rose. Weather is expected to play a factor, something that it has done in recent years.

So far this year, both the Masters and the U.S. Open were captured by first-time major winners, so this year's Open Championship could be won by anyone.

It's been five years since Tiger Woods has won a major championship. And despite four victories and a return to No. 1 in the world in 2013, the biggest concern for Woods at this major is his health.

He strained his elbow at last month's U.S. Open, playing in visible pain while struggling to a 32nd-place finish. He hasn't played since Merion, even skipping his own tournament to give the injury time to heal.

"I feel very good about my game," Woods said, according to USA Today. "I feel very, very good going into major championships. I've had a pretty good year this year so far - won four times. Even though I haven't won a major championship in five years, I've been there in a bunch of them where I've had chances. I just need to keep putting myself there and eventually I'll get some."

Masters champion Adam Scott will play with Matt Kuchar and Luke Donald. Rory McIlroy and Phil Mickelson will play with each other to start, while Woods will be with Graeme McDowell.

The tournament is at Gullane, East Lothian, Scotland and the T.V Coverage of the 2013 British Open will start at 4:00 a.m ET on ESPN with Live Online Streaming available on ESPN 3.
