The 2013 U.S. Open officially gets underway on Monday as the world's top tennis players take to the hard courts of New York. On today's schedule are Venus Williams, Serena Williams, Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal.

Top-seeded Serena Williams is schedule to begin her match at 7 p.m. ET. She is a four-time women's singles champion in Queens. Her titles came in 1999, 2002 and 2008, plus last year.

The second-seeded Rafael Nadal is schedule to play at 11 a.m. EST while Roger Federer will play at 7 p.m. ET.

Nadal and Federer are two of the biggest rivals of Tennis world, they met a total of 31 times, with Nadal winning 21 and Federer winning 10 matches. Also, they are the only players who have met each other 8 times in the Grand Slam finals, according to the Tennis World USA.

Serena has been nearly unstoppable this season, but she has had a couple missteps in Grand Slams. Williams did manage to win the French Open, however, an injury contributed to her loss to Sloane Stephens in the Australian Open, and she was shocked by Sabine Lisicki at Wimbledon. Williams has been essentially unbeatable other than that, although Victoria Azarenka did grind out a hard-fought victory over the American star in the Cincinnati Open final last week, as reported by Sky Sports.

Andy Murray awaits his turn as returning men's champion. Murray faces a bigger challenge on the men's side, where he is the No. 3 seed. World No. 1 Novak Djokovic again tops the draw, and Rafael Nadal is No. 2 with fellow Spaniard David Ferrer at No. 4.

The U.S. Open action will available via live stream and a full schedule may be found at the Open website.
