The Red Sox scored more runs than any other teams during the regular season, and their matchup against rival Tampa Bay Rays in the American League Division Series (ALDS) showed their consistency in dominating the plays.

Detroit Tigers' pitcher Anibal Sanchez will start in Game 1 of the ALCS. Although the team defeated the Oakland Athletics Thursday evening, Sanchez yielded three home runs in Game 3. Despite the let up, Sanchez was a 21-game winner, and his teammate Justin Verlander is 2012's American League Cy Young Award winner.

Red Sox' pitcher Jon Lester pitched 7.2 effective innings in the ALDS Game 1 win over Tampa Bay. Although he faces the strong lineup of Tigers, who stands second in the MLB in runs scored, his team's defense     will back him up. In addition, Boston relief pitcher Koji Uehara posted a 0.28 ERA after the All-Star Break and he was instrumental to defeating the Rays in the ALDS.
