Redskins vs. Vikings Thursday Night Football Preview

Going into tonight's matchup, the Redskins is 3-5 and Vikings 1-7 in the last eight games. Redskins is ranked third in NFL East Division, while Vikings is ranked fourth in NFC North. Comparing the overall stats between the two teams, the Vikings will need a miracle to win.

According to NFL.com, the Redskins' offensive stats far outweigh that of the Vikings in every category of yards achieved. Redskins' quarterback Robert Griffin III has achieved 2,169 yards with 181 completions and 9 touchdowns, but Vikings' QB Christian Ponder has only 98 completions, 1,072 yards, and 3 touchdowns.

While Vikings' RB Adrian Peterson, NFL's reigning MVP, have scored 7 touchdowns and 711 yards, the Redskins' RB Alfred Morris is just a little shy from matching Peterson's performance this season.

In the defensive comparison, the Redskins' yards and points allowed per game is about equal to that of Vikings with the exception of "Third Down Conversion % Allowed" (Redskins 35.4, Vikings 49.2). The odds of winning for Vikings is exceptionally low tonight. But Peterson and his teammates will do their best to put up a fight.
