Nets vs. Raptors Nov. 26 Game Preview

Nets have lost five games in a row, dropping them to the bottom of Eastern Conference. Raptors, on the other hand, is placed first in the division and is looking for a three-win streak on Tuesday evening.

Nets are playing without point guard Deron Williams and center Brook Lopez, who are both resting from their sprained ankles.

Power forward Kevin Garnett had just four points on 2-of-9 shooting in the 109-97 game against the Mavericks on Sunday. Paul Pierce is the other veteran player that Brooklyn are counting on to make plays happen, but he is averaging 13.0 and 37.9 percent shooting. Both players have been producing the lowest stats of their careers so far.

Despite these offsets, Pierce remains optimistic, according to NBA.com, "Whatever our record is - and know we've dug ourselves quite a big hole, no matter if we've got the injuries or not.... We still feel like we're talented enough to win these types of games."

Nets' guard Joe Johnson is leading the team in shooting percentages in both free throws (79 percent) and 3-pointers (46 percent). He is also averaging 15.1 points per game.

If Garnett and Pierce can improve their shooting accuracy, the Nets may be able to turn the game around from their losing streaks. While the two veteran players have played good defense, the other players must also stop the opponent's offense.

So far, the Nets have allowed an average of 104.8 points per game.

Raptors' DeMar DeRozan and Rudy Gay led the Toronto with 17 points each in the 96-88 win against the Washington Wizards on Friday.

Whether the Nets can win depends on how well the players can cover their bases in the fundamentals.
