UCF received the school's first BCS bowl bid with No. 19 Louisville's victory over Cincinnati on Thursday night. So the Knights will try to set a school record with their eighth straight win and outright title with an undefeated league record in first season of the American Athletic Conference. SMU is trying to qualify for bowl game for fifth straight season.
UCF Receiver/kick returner Rannell Hall went at least 33 yards with all four returns against South Florida, including a 69-yarder. He had 177 yards on kickoff returns. He leads UCF with 49 catches and is second in yards to Breshad Perriman, who has 735 to 729 for Hall.
If SMU's QB Garrett Gilbert misses his second straight game with left knee sprain, redshirt freshman Neal Burcham will start again. Burcham was 27 of 52 for 212 yards with three interceptions in 34-0 loss to Houston.
