Going into Week 15 Monday Night Football, the Ravens is placed 2nd in AFC North, and the Lions 2nd in NFC North. While both teams have same number of wins and losses and standings in their respective divisions, the Lions' offense far outperforms the Ravens.

Lions has the league's No. 3 overall offense lineup, averaging 26.6 points per game (No. 6), 409.6 yards per game (No. 3), 297.2 pass yards per game (No. 3), and 112.5 rush yards (No. 18). Their quarterback Matthew Stafford has led Detroit with 27 touchdown passes at 3,976 yards, and it was largely wide receiver Calvin Johnson, who has caught the ball and brought it to the end zones. He has 12 touchdowns.

Ravens' offensive stats fall outside the ball park of top 20 in the league, but their defensive lineup keeps them afloat in the playoff picture. Their quarterback Joe Flacco has made 18 touchdown passes at 3,238 pass yards, and running back Ray Rice has 4 rush touchdowns at 549 rush yards. On defense, Baltimore is ranked 7th in points (20.1) and rush yards (101.2) yielded per game, and 9th in yards (332.8) and 13th in pass yards (231.7).

Looking back at Lions' pass defense, Ravens fans can see ways that their team can still emerge from Ford Field with a win if they can continue to move the ball down field. However, Baltimore probably will face a wall if they try to penetrate Detroit's No. 5 rush defensive line through rushing.

The Ravens and Lions have met three times in the regular season since the Raven's Inaugural Season in 199. Baltimore has won two of three, but Stafford and Johnson have performed exceptionally so far in the league.

According to the offensive and defensive stats comparison, the Lions is expected to be the more efficient team, but it must do so without making major mistakes against the strong defensive Ravens. If Stafford can continue to make short and quick pass completions, the Lions will have an edge over the Ravens at their home field. The odds are that Lions will win the game tonight.
