Counting to the 2014 NFC Championship game, the 49ers is on a 8-game winning streak. They have won 14 games and lost 4. The Seahawks have 14 wins and 3 losses. The two teams each have one loss and one win, with Seahawks winning in Week 2 and 49ers winning on Dec. 8, Week 14, at Candlestick Park in San Francisco, California.

The 49ers will be fighting to redeem themselves of two total defeats in their last two trips to the Pacific Northwest in Washington state. Seattle has won the last two home matchups with the 49ers by a combined 71-16 score. In Week 2, Seattle defeated the 49ers with 29-3 points.

"We're ready to go," said 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick. "We're a different team than the last time we played them up there."

In their previous matchup on Dec. 8, the 49ers out scored the Seahawks by two points (17-19). Running back Frank Gore made a 51-yard gain with just more than four minutes left, and Phil Dawson kicked a 22-yard field goal with 26 seconds left.

In this game, the 49ers took an early lead with 6 points in the first quarter. Although Seahawks came back with 14 points in second, San Francisco maintained the lead by putting down another 10 points. Then, in fourth quarter, both teams scored three points each, and 49ers held the Seahawks down by two points, defeating the visitors.

Although Seahawks' quarterback Russell Wilson threw a 39-yard touchdown pass to Luke Wilson and Marshawn Lynch ran an 11-yard score, the Seattle were unable to clinch the NFC West on San Francisco' home field.

The last time that the 49ers lost at home against the West since losing to the Seahawks on Oct. 26, 2008.

While Seahawk's All-Pro cornerback Richard Sherman, Kam Chancellor, Bobby Wagner and Michael Bennett are the league's toughest defensive tackles, the 49ers will counter with their own All-Pro lineups - Patrick Willis, NaVorro Bowman, Donte Whitner and Justin Smith in San Francisco.

Seahawk's coach Pete Carroll, former defense coordinator, has coached his team to be the No. 1 ranking defense in the NFL in points (14.4) and yards (273.3) permitted while also amassing a league-best 28 interceptions. However, their No. 8-ranked rush defense gives the 49ers a chance to make a foot hold and push back the Seahawk's defense.

49ers is ranked No. 3 in rush yards, and Frank Gore leads the team in rush yards at 1,128 yards. Meanwhile, wide receiver Anquan Bolden leads the team in catches and receiving yards (1,179), and he had eight catches for 136 yards in last week's game. Tight end Vernon Davis also caught his seventh touchdown pass in seven postseason games. In addition, the main difference between Week 2 is the presence of Michael Crabtree, who has 30 catches in seven games since returning from Achilles' tendon surgery.

49ers' defense has limited 10 of the last 12 opponents to 20 points or fewer, which is a season-long streak of not allowing a 100-yard rusher on the line.

Seahawks' Wilson has led his team in playing the top offenses, but his late-season struggle is evident is his career-low 103 yards passing in last week's playoffs win over New Orleans Saints. He is averaging only 127.7 yards in his last three games.

Another contributing factor to Russell's low stats could be because wide receiver Percy Harvin has been missing in action due to major hip surgeries. He missed practice again Thursday due to a concussion suffered last week. It was announced on Friday that Harvin will not play in Sunday's NFC Championship game, because of the lingering effects from the concussion, his coach said, according to ESPN.

"He will not make it back for this game," Seattle coach Pete Carroll said Friday. "He did not make it through the concussion protocol. I'm super disappointed for Percy. I know how much he wants to play."

Harvin was examined by doctors on Wednesday and was not cleared to return to practice. Carroll said Harvin would be back at practice next week, if the Seahawks win Sunday, in preparation for playing in the Super Bowl.

Seattle has pulled through thus far as a team and many believe that they also have a very big chance of clinching the NFC Championship. Running back Marshawn Lynch has piled up 140 yards and scored twice a week ago, accumulating five touchdowns and three 100-yard performance in his last five playoff games.

Seahawks fullback Derrick Coleman, the first deaf player in NFL history, has made quite a scene through his inspiring Duracell commercial ad that racked up over five million views within a week. He made his first NFL touchdown catch in the game against the Saints.

The Seahawks have also won six straight postseason home games, outscoring their opponents 174-109.
