Going into the AFC Championship playoff game, the Patriots have 13 wins and 4 losses, and Patriots have 14 wins and 3 losses. In their most recent matchup, the Patriots' Hall of Fame quarterback Tom Brady led his team in one of the most improbable comeback by winning 31-34 in overtime against the Broncos on Nov. 24 on Sunday night.

The Patriots were down 24-0 during halftime, but Brady broke through with three touchdowns to lead New England back to a 31-24 lead. Then Broncos' quarterback Peyton Manning threw an 11-yard scoring pass to Demaryius Thomas for the Broncos, tying the scores at 31 points.

Denver's Tony Carter ran into teammate Ryan Allen's punt after it landed, and Nate Ebner recovered for Patriots at Broncos' end zone. Brady then ran twice to line up the kick, and that's when Stephen Gostkowski, who held the former  extra-point record, kicked a 31-yard field goal for New England, his 21st successful field goal attempt that lifted Patriots to their OT win.

Judging just from this game, fans can say that the Patriots led by Brady is unstoppable when given a chance, such as Broncos' mistake of touching the punt. Yet, the two teams have output exceptional playoff performances historically and in 2013 that give both teams great chances to represent the AFC to play in the Super Bowl 2014.

The Patriots and Broncos have faced off in the playoff in 2006, where Brady suffered his first playoff loss. Yet, he has beaten Manning ten of the fourteen times they have squared off, including twice in the past two seasons, according to Mile High Report.

In the 2013 regular season, the Broncos have broken several records, including the most points (606 ) and touchdowns (76). The previous record of 75 was held by the Patriots in 2007. Meanwhile, Denver's wide receivers - Demaryius Thomas (14), Eric Decker (11), Wes Welker (10), and tight end Julius Thomas (12) - all finished with at least 10 touchdowns. On the ground, running back Knowshon Moreno added 13 rush touchdowns, breaking the NFL record of having more than three players with 10 or more touchdowns.

On an individual level, Manning broke Brady's passing touchdowns record of 50 in 2007, and he threw a total of 5,477 yards, one yard more than the previous record held by New Orleans Saints' quarterback Drew Brees in 2011.

Moreover, he also broke the record for most four-touchdown passing games, most 400-yard passing games, and most 90+ passer rating games.

Broncos' Matt Prater kicked a 64-yard field goal in Week 14, breaking the long-standing NFL record of the longest field goal held by Jason Elam. He also went 75-for-75 for the season, setting the records for most extra points attempted and without a miss. This was previous held by Patriots' Gostkowski in 2007 (74-of-74).

This season, running back LeGarrette Blount have led the Patriots with the league's top total rush yards and eight touchdowns in his last three games. Of the 234 yards and six touchdowns from Patriots' rush game, Blout accounted for 166 yards and four of the touchdowns. Over the last three games, the Patriots have averaged 214 rush yards, and Blout averaged 143 yards per game, according to CBS Boston.
