With less than three days left until Super Bowl XLVIII, the NFC's first-seeded Seahawks and the AFC's first-seeded Broncos are working hard at getting ready for the game on Sunday.

According to the offensive comparison of the Seahawks and Broncos provided by NFL.com, the Broncos led by quarterback Peyton Manning, who has broken several passing records in NFL history this year, appears to be able to easily dominate any team in the league. Compared with Seattle, Denver has averaged over 100 total yards per game, 138 yards, and 10 points per game more than their opponent this Sunday. The only glimmer of hope for Seahawks is their rushing game, which exceeds Broncos by close to 20 yards per game on average.

Of course, it is obvious that Seahawks are able to make it to the final championship game for a reason. They have been considered as this year's Super Bowl contender since the beginning of the season.

The reason is simple: they have the best defense in the league.

While the Broncos has an average of 457.3 total yards per game, Seahawks' defense yields only 273.6 total yards per game; Broncos passes 340.2 passing yards per game, Seahawks defense yields only 172 passing yards per game allowed; Broncos scores 37.9 points per game, Seahawks yields 14.4 points per game on average.

Since these stats averages are derived for both teams' performance of the season of 22 weeks, we can say with certain degree of certainty that the stats will reflect how they will do once the Super Bowl game begins.

Looking at just the points per game allowed in the defensive category, Broncos will probably have a difficult time to break down Seahawks' defense and score more than Seahawks' 14.4 points yield per game. On the opposite end, Broncos' defense averaged 24.9 points yield per game, which means that if Seahawks play at their average level, they will be able to score at least 26.1 points per game. If both conditions hold, Seattle is bound to win the Super Bowl XLVIII.

However, no teams are without mistakes, which either team can give its opponents an opening to overcome its strengths. If Seahawks defense fail to clamp down on Manning and the Broncos' receivers, the game may be overturned immediately and until the final fate of the two teams are sealed.

Denver Broncos have their mishap against the New England Patriots. Seattle Seahawks have their mishap against the San Francisco 49ers.

Let's take a look at what other analysts are saying:

Five Denver receivers caught 10 or more touchdown passes this season. Peyton Manning has not been sacked in the postseason. There are no other comparable teams.

Seahawks will be the 16th team to lead the league in fewest points allowed to appeared in a Super Bowl. Since 1970, the teams with the better ranked defense have averaged 28-15, but just 1-6 since 2006 in the championship. If Seahawks win the Super Bowl, they will prove that best defense is the best offense and that defense does still win championship.

While averaging only 167.2 passing yards in his last six games, Seahawks' quarterback Russell Wilson passed for more than 200 yards in the NFC Championship win over the San Francisco 49ers for the first time since early December.

According to Tony Drovetto of Seahawks.com, part of the reason is that six of Seattle's last seven opponents have ranked among the top 10 defensive teams. Since Broncos finished 19th in the league in defense, Wilson should have a greater chance of making greater number of completions.

In defense, Drovetto believes that coach Pete Carroll will place the priority on stopping the run over controlling the pass from Manning, who passed for an NFL-record 5,477 yards and 55 touchdowns this year, since Broncos running game was credited to the team's historic passing attack.

Meanwhile, Manning used to stay up late poured over preseason games, watching game film for any potential advantages, downloading new information. Although he is no longer so adamant about watching every footages, he has gain invaluable knowledge of the game in all plays.

Quarterbacks coach Greg Knapp had high praise Wednesday for Manning's ability to translate opposing defenses' intentions before the snap and process in the pocket.

"He might be one of the best I've ever been around that can process, 'Ok, I've got these tools to use, and in 10 seconds I've got to make a decision, and execute in less than four,'" Knapp explained, according to NFL.com. "That trait he has is so special because it's not like he's up there audibling all the time."

Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman praised Manning and the Broncos' offense on Wednesday, calling Manning "one of the best to ever play the game."
