Rangers lead best-of-7 series 1-0 with a 3-2 overtime victory in Game 1. Although they have lost all four series they've played against the Penguins in the Stanley Cup Playoffs, they are looking to change history this time.

New York will have played five games in seven days by Sunday, but has yet to grown weary. They outplayed Penguins in the first period, but were outshot 15-4 in the second period.

"We're fine," said forward Benoit Pouliot, according to NHL.com. "It's not like we're traveling so far away. We played seven games and the seventh one was a grueling match, but I think most of us have been through it. It's the NHL."

Forward Sidney Crosby had this least effective game. He committed one turnover and was on ice for each of Rangers' three goals.

"Through six games, now seven games in the playoffs, sometimes I think the questions are "Why [hasn't Crosby] scored?' and 'Do you need to score?'" Penguins coach Dan Bylsma said. "He's had scoring chances. He had, in the first found, 27 scoring chances on even strength. He had a point a game through the first six games."

The Penguins are meeting the Rangers in the Stanley Cup Playoffs for the first time since the 2008 Eastern Conference Semifinals. Today's game kicks off the Eastern Conference Second Round of the Playoffs. The Penguins defeated the Columbus Blue Jackets, and the Rangers fended off the Philadelphia Flyers.

Pittsburgh has had three days to rest since beating Blue Jackets in the 4-3 Game 6 win on Monday. The Rangers, on the other hand, played their best game against Flyers in Game 7 on Wednesday, but it was after a defeat the night before.

Rangers' goaltender Henrik Lundqvist redeemed himself from Game 6 with a 26-save performance in Game 7. Against the Penguins, he has 2.46 goals-against average and .913 save percentage in 51 career appearances. He will attempt to play keep up the impeccable performance.

"He's the backbone of our team for a reason," defenseman Ryan McDonagh said, according to NHL.com. "He made some huge saves down the stretch. We know what he means to this team, and he knows what he means. When he's on his game he's tough to beat. When they had some time in our zone he was the backbone back there. He relaxed everybody with some big saves.

Penguins forward Brandon Sutter scored three goals in postseason and has five points in all six playoff games. Rangers forward Benoit Pouliot scored two goals, one of which sealed the fate for New York to advance towards the Second Round series. Rangers' forward Martin St. Louis and Brad Richards each have four goals.
