With The Walking Dead Season 5 returning to the AMC network in October, tidbits of information is surfacing on the web that reveals tantalizing detailers of things to come.

Filming of episode 2, Walking Dead Season 5 continues in Atlanta, GA. According to a Facebook posting by The Spoiling Dead Fans last Tuesday, a TV film crew was seen "filming the group walking across the street. Priest aka Gabriel, Rick, Michonne, Sasha and Bob, that order. Maybe Seth is leading them somewhere?" Hours earlier, Spoiling Dead posted an image of a deserted intersection littered with garbage and abandoned vehicles. From these postings, filming is certainly in full swing.

Details from the first episode filming were recently revealed in an ask.fm chat with Chandler Riggs, who plays Carl Grimes. In the May 16 interview, a fan asked Riggs when filming was going to be completed. Chandler answered, "We finished yesterday," and added that episode two filming had begun.

The general consensus in the rumor mill is that it takes at least eight working days to film each episode. If that is true, that would mean that episode two filming will conclude sometime this week. So far, details of episode two filming remains minimal. During episode 1 filming, Chandler was reportedly with his father William Riggs. The older Riggs tweeted, "Wow. TWD Season 5 episodes 1 & 2 will blow your pants off. That is all."

Last week, the Walking Dead fanbase began speaking of special effects explosions at the film set in Atlanta. The Spoiling Dead Fans posted a video on Vimeo showing the aftermath of what indeed appears to be an explosion. Spoiling Dead explained, "We posted a pic the other day of the tanks picture here. They were making them look old and rusted. Kim has provided us with a video the aftermath. The explosions heard were from these tanks. The burnt spots are charred body parts."

There are many questions that will need to be answered in TWD Season 5, as Season 4 ended in a cliffhanger, with the protagonists being locked up as prisoners in a boxcar. It has not been confirmed exactly when the new season of The Walking Dead will debut, but it is certain to be in October of this year.

The Walking Dead Season 4 premiere date took place on October 13, 2013. So, it is safe to assume that TWD Season 5 will have its premiere date at around the same time frame.
