After suffering two defeats, the Thunder regrouped and picked up the steam and beat the Spurs 106-97 in Game 3. Injured Serge Ibaka came back from what was thought to be a season-ending injury to play 30 minutes, where he had 15 points, seven rebounds and four blocks to boost the Thunder past the Spurs on Sunday night.

"I love what he did," Thunder coach Scott Brooks said. "I love the determination that he played with. That's something that he's done all along. That was a great, great game by him. He impacted the game both ends of the floor."

While Ibaka said he struggled during the game, he still managed to help Oklahoma City dominate on Sunday and led by 20 with just over three minutes left.

In Game 2, the Spurs shut down the Thunder with a 35 points difference. The final score was 112-77. The Spurs lead the series 2-0 and looks like the current Thunder team are not match for them. Spurs shot over 50 percent in the first two games of the Western Conference Finals and won the Thunder by a combined 52 points.

Oklahoma City have been playing without their start defender Serge Ibaka, who is the league's leader in blocked shots but has been out since Game 2 in an injury against the Los Angeles Clippers. The Thunder had said they expected him to be out for the playoffs, but changed their decision and declared Friday him day-to-day, according to AP.

"I've been hearing a lot of people saying my team lost two games because I was out," he said, the AP reported. "That's not true. I believe in my guys. I believe in my teammates. They can be better with me or without me. It's not excuse because Serge Ibaka was not there. Just San Antonio, the first two games, they played better basketball."

The Spurs have made 18 of 40 3-pointers in the series and Tony Park and Manu Ginobili have been extremely efficient in finding their teammates for open shots. The Spurs led the league with 25.4 assists per game during the regular season.

While the Spurs are off to a good start, they continue to hold up their guard as experience tells them that Oklahoma City is preparing for a comeback. In 2012, Thunder fell behind Spurs 2-0 in the Western Conference finals before winning the series 4-2.

In Game 1, Thunder lost 105-122 despite MVP Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook's constant onslaught of shots. Durant made 10 shots from the field out of 19 shots, four out of seven 3-pointers, and four free throws. Westbrook made 9 out of 21 shots from the field, one out of 4 3-pointers, and 5 rebounds. Both players played more than 36 minutes. Derek Fisher scored 24 points and Reggie Jackson had 15 points.

The Spurs' Tony Parker had only 14 points, Tim Duncan 27 points, Manu Ginobili 20 points, and Danny Green had 24 points.

Coming into the Western Conference Finals, the Spurs eliminated the Trail Blazers with five games, winning four and losing one. In almost every win, San Antonio dominated the game with double-digit lead, shutting down any chances of hope for Portland to catch up.

Tony Parker led in scoring and his team's defense limited Portland to 37.8 percent shooting, Even LaMarcus Aldridge, who averaged 29.8 points in the first-round series against Houston Rockets, was limited in scoring under the relentless defense from Tim Duncan and Tiago Splitter.

The Thunder also came through to the Western Conference Final by defeating the Los Angeles Clippers with four wins and two losses. While MVP Kevin Durant was triple-teamed by Chris Paul and others, Russell Westbrook and Spurs teammates took advantage of the lose-ends and effectively winning the series.

Going into Game 1 with Thunder, the Spurs is shooting at 49 percent from the field as a team in the postseason. While Tim Duncan and Manu Ginobili are among the oldest players in NBA, they will play in their seventh Western Conference finals together.

Durant attributed Spurs' success to the genius of Gregg Popovich, the league's Coach of the Year.

"Their system, they plug guys in and out," he said, according to AP. "They always stick to their same system. They get guys who fit. And they've got a great coach who gets those guys prepared."

While Durant is averaging 31.4 points and 9.5 rebounds, the Spurs are eyeing Westbrook, who is averaging 26.6 points, 8.4 assists and 8.0 rebounds in postseason play.

"He's an incredible talent having a great playoff run," said Duncan, the AP reported. "Some incredible numbers. Just an impressive athlete when you try to stay in front of him. His confidence is there."
