This week on 'The Young and the Restless' (Y&R), Genoa City will be witness to not just one, but two shootings. Be warned, there are spoilers ahead.

Recent rumors on the web suggest that Austin will leave Paul Williams in critical condition, after shooting him during an altercation. Dylan McAvoy will bring Nicki to the hospital, where Paul's family and friends have gathered to hold a vigil for Paul. Paul is in need for a liver transplant, but his brother Todd turns out not to be a match.

Just when the situation appears hopeless, a surprise twist will reveal that Paul is actually Dylan's biological father. Better yet, Dylan is a perfect match for the organ donation. The earlier altercation between Paul and Austin was not one-sided. After Paul is shot, Austin flees the scene. Noah Newman's girlfriend Courtney, who was present during the confrontation, fires her gun at Austin from afar. One of the bullets apparently finds its mark.

Wounded and eluding the authorities, Austin goes to Summer to tell her why he kidnapped Avery, and that Paul got shot. In an inexplicable turn of events, Summer decides to help Austin by tending to his wound, even though he was the one who kidnapped her aunt. This development has led fans to speculate that Austin and Summer will run off together to become outlaws.

Y&R is one of CBS' longer-running shows -- having premiered over forty years ago. The show's premise revolves around a wide range of characters living in Genoa City, a fictional Midwestern urban center.

Just recently, two-time Emmy winner Gina Tognoni has joined the Y&R cast lineup. Tognoni began her soap opera career back in 1995 as Kelly Cramer in 'One Life to Live'. She later moved on as Dinah Marler in 'Guiding Light', before landing a role as Sami Nelson in 'Venice'.

Now going into Season 41, the 'The Young and the Restless' has won seven Daytime Emmy Awards, and has been syndicated both in the U.S. and abroad.
