The New York Giants will be playing against the Detroit Lions on Monday, Sept. 8, at 4:10 pm PT. The Giants will be visiting the Lions at the Ford Field in Detroit, Michigan. Fans can watch the televised game on ESPN and online via live stream below (free for subscribers).

The Giants are not ready for the regular season, according to various analysts. While their season opener is coming in less than 24 hours, quarterback Eli Manning is struggling to pick up a new offensive system that emphasizes quick decisions and accuracy put into work by offensive coordinator Ben McAdoo. The Giants offense has been a disaster in the preseason.

Because of the way the Giants ended their 2013 season, the team aggressively addressed the shortcomings by adding cornerbacks Walter Thurmond and Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie. The Giants also added two new starters, and will continue to rely on Rashad Jennings to help get the back down the field.

The Lions had the best offense last season in the NFL, and they are only getting better. Quarterback Matthew Stafford has looked confident as he passed the ball around to receivers Golden Tate, Calvin Johnson, tight ends Eric Ebron and Joseph Fauria, and three running backs.

Running back Joique Bell is expected to output more rush yards than Reggie Bush - who wore down last season.

According to NFL.com, one of Lions' weaknesses is in their secondary defense that can be easily picked apart. The rush defense is not as stout as last season.

During training camp, Nick Fairley, the former first-round pick, is not in his best shape for being overweight, which affects Lions' ability to dominate the backfield. Also, Ndamukong Suh may not remain on the team for long as this is the final year of his deal, but the 305-pound defensive tackle, who has 27 ½ sacks in four seasons, will continue to slow down the opposing team's advances.

According to the teams' offensive and defensive stats, the Lions have a clear advantage over the Giants in every offensive field. In defense, the Giants and Lions stand about even. With the Giants still trying to figure out their offense, the chances are the Lions will emerge as the winner for Monday's game.

To listen to the game on radio, the Giants' broadcast can be listened on WFAN 660 AM & 101.9 FM and on the affiliate radio network stations. The Lions' broadcast can be listened on 97.1 The Ticket (WXYT-FM) and on the affiliate radio network stations.
