"Duck Dynasty" stars Phil, Kay, and Uncle Si Robertson recently visited Alaska to participate in Operation: Heal Our Patriots along with the state's former governor, Sarah Palin. Samaritan's Purse puts on the retreat annually to give wounded veterans and their spouses an opportunity to focus on strengthening their marriages and their faith.

Operation: Heal Our Patriots gives post-9/11 veterans the opportunity for "spiritual refreshment, physical renewal, and marriage enrichment," the Samaritan's Purse website reads. The Robertsons and Sarah Palin joined the effort earlier this month by greeting ten couples who would spend the week immersed in Biblically-based seminars aimed to strengthen their marriages in the beauty of Port Alsworth, Alaska. Samaritan's Purse reports that five people were baptized into Christ at this year's event.

"It was just wonderful. What a beautiful place to meet somebody that's done so much for us," Miss Kay said of the event - "Of all the things I've done, I think this is going down as my favorite."

Silas Robertson, who is a veteran of the Vietnam War, greeted the soldiers with enthusiasm - "Any time soldiers come home, especially those that are wounded, they're close to my heart ... They're brothers in arms," he said.

Franklin Graham, president of Samaritan's Purse, was also on the scene along with Jep and Alan Robertson. Former Governor of Alaska Sarah Palin and her husband, Todd, were present as well, and had apparently hosted the Robertsons for a meal during their stay in Alaska. The "Duck Dynasty" patriarch was quick to compliment Sarah for her apparent outdoorsman and culinary skills- "We need moose-cooking women in the White House," he jested.

Palin had actually joked that she'd support Phil Robertson running for President at the Republican Leadership Conference earlier this year, and it seems that Phil might consider her a competent candidate for Vice President. "You know what ... if we loved God and loved each other, I think our culture would put spiritual men in high places to make political decisions," Phil reportedly told her.
