GTA V DLC Rumored to Drop Before Next Gen Release for PS4, Xbox One and PC

Rockstar Games' Grand Theft Auto V is set to release for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on November 18, and PC on January 27, 2015, but the popular open-world adventure game may be getting some new downloadable content beforehand.

First releasing for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in September of last year, this enhanced version of the popular game for next gen consoles is said to include increased draw distance and resolution, new wildlife and vegetation, upgraded weather effects, the addition of 100 new songs, and more overall improvements.

Players can easily transfer their character progression from the multiplayer game, GTA Online, over to the new platforms and the Windows PC version will include a replay editor that lets fans create video clips of their gameplay. GTA Online will also get a bump to its player count up to 30 for the PS4 and Xbox One editions.

All players who pre-order GTA V for the Xbox One, PS4, or PC will receive $1,000,000 of in-game cash to spend in the single-player or online modes, and Sony has upped the ante with an additional $300,000 virtual payout for those who pre-order on the PS4.

The original GTA V sold more than 11 million copies in its first 24 hours last year, with 34 million sold as of August of this year. It has received unprecedented critical acclaim, earning it a 97/100 Metacritic rating.

But it's the upcoming Heist DLC content, rumored to be released before the next gen version, that's really getting players excited.

This content was made public by YouTube tipster DomisLive during a recent Q&A on his channel. It's not know where Dom received this info, but he speculates that the Heist DLC could come out anywhere from October 31st (bundled with the Halloween content) to the next-gen launch day on November 18th. Traditionally, Rockstar has released new content right along with enhanced versions of its games, so that's most likely.

Other confirmed content coming with the next gen version includes new jobs that take you to the sky. "The latest batch of Rockstar Verified GTA Online Jobs take us to the skies above Los Santos and Blaine County, with a squadron of ten Air Races, including our five official selections from the #FlightSchool Event Weekend Creator Competition," a Rockstar statement explained.
