Star Wars and gaming fans have been looking forward to the release date of Star Wars: Battlefront 3 since it was first teased two years ago at E3 2013.  We now know what platforms that it will be one, and when a big announcement will take place at the Star Wars Celebration.

For those who still have the Xbox 360 and the Sony PlayStation 3, then you won't be able to play Star Wars: Battlefront 3.  According to Yahoo Games, EA confirmed the platforms for Star Wars: Battlefront 3, and it will be coming to current generation consoles (Xbox One and Sony PlayStation 4) and the PC only.

If you want more details about Star Wars: Battlefront 3, then you will have to wait until April 16-19, where EA plans to make an announcement at the Star Wars Celebration in Anaheim, California.  EA's name has shown up on the schedule, but there is no specific date of the show where the new announcement will take place.

EA has said this about the game and their announcement: "We could not think of a better or more appropriate place to debut the game officially for the first time than the premier event that celebrates the Star Wars universe and the legions of fans who have fallen in love with it."

The Star Wars franchise is no stranger to video game tie-ins, and one of the most anticipated game release dates of this year is Star Wars Battlefront 3, and it looks like its release date will be sometime in December 2015.

The Star Wars Battlefront series has a reputation of ending too early, according to Gamerant.  The game is about fighting through enemy ranks for domination and control of maps that are key locations in the Star Wars films is definitely what Star Wars fans and gamers truly want to see.  There was a leak of alpha footage that showed both Hoth and Endor, two locations of battles from Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back and Star Wars: Return of the Jedi, respectively.

Apparently, Star Wars: Battlefront 3 was going to be released shortly after Battlefront II, which was over 10 years ago, but it was scrapped.  The fact that it was revived has given Star Wars fans loving the idea of reviving the currently scrapped Star Wars 1313, which was supposed to be a dark and gritty game taking place within the Star Wars universe.

Star Wars: Battlefield 3 is set to have a release date of sometime in December.  We don't have any exact confirmation on that, but considering that Star Wars VII: The Force Awakens, is scheduled to come out on December 18, 2015, this is one deadline that really needs to me made.  In fact, Star Wars Battlefield 3 plans to cover all seven of the Star Wars movies, including the newest one, according to Venture Capital Post.  They also say that this is the "most expensive" Star Wars game in history, and it certainly is the most expansive.

According to the Latinos Post, Star Wars: Battlefront 3 intends to give everything that the first two Star Wars Battlefront games will have, and more.  Players can choose to play as a first person or third person shooter, and they can play as a Rebel or Empire, depending on what they want.  The game also has a 64 player only multiplayer mode, and players can even control bigger characters by spending points.

According to Yahoo Games, EA has a ten-year deal with the Star Wars franchise owner Disney that started in 2013 for games based on the popular franchise, developed by two of its marquee studios that include Battlefield series outfit DICE and Visceral Games, creators of the Dead Space series.

Look for Star Wars: Battlefield 3 some time in December for the PS4, PC, and Xbox One, hopefully around the time of the seventh official Star Wars movie, The Force Awakens.
