MLB 15 The Show Release Date for PS4, PS3, PS Vita; Deals, and News

Mar 30, 2015 02:47 PM EDT

Those who have been looking forward to the release of MLB 15 The Show will not have to wait much longer as the game is launching on March 31st.  Those who are big fans might want to purchase MLB 15 The Show 10th Anniversary Edition near the release date.

According to Gotta Be Mobile, the MLB 15 The Show 10th Anniversary Edition has about $100 in extras, and it includes 12,000 Stubs to buy in-game items in The Road to the Show game mode.  The Anniversary edition also includes 15 Bonus Item Packs including 6 MLB cards and 2 items including equipment, ritual items, franchise sponsorships, and stadiums.  It also includes 31 PS4 Themes.

For those that want to purchase MLB 15 The Show on a midnight release date, you should know there doesn't seem to be any specific events targeted for it, like at Gamestop or Best Buy.  It sounds like your best bet is just go to some 24/7 store like Wal-Mart or Target and see if they will sell it to you at that time.

Of course, you don't have to leave the house at all, and just download the digital standard version of MLB 15 The Show or the MLB 15 The Show Anniversary Edition as well at midnight Eastern Standard Time.

According to Gotta Be Mobile, fans will be very excited at the introduction of licensed brands and equipment, which add to the realism of MLB 15 The Show.  According to Gamestop, some of the licensed equipment includes "accurate bats, gloves, cleats, and batting gloves", and there will be other improvements like "a new Radio Show, directional hitting, improved load times, and a completely overhauled Diamond Dynasty mode help MLB 15 The Show  prove that Baseball Is Better".

Other bonuses include stubs that players can earn to spend on the previously mentioned equipment, Road to the Show improvements, and virtual baseball cards, as well as improved online experience. Players also gain year to year saves and there are Legends in MLB 15, which will introduce 30 iconic MLB alumni into the virtual player card pool, with one representative for each team.  The players span every historic baseball era for the past 70 years.

The game will also have "major graphical improvements" such as an introduction of real-time seasonal sun and shadows and revamped night lighting.  By the way, there is going to be an emphasis on player emotion and personality, which means you will see the "no joy in Mudville" when the batter strikes out.

Like most athletic games such as the ever-so-popular Madden series, the player on the cover is a coveted thing amongst athletes.  This year's choice went to the Dodgers Yasiel Puig, and even though the shot is from the back, it captures the spirit of the game very well.

MLB 15 The Show is only available for the Sony platforms like the PS4, PS3, and PS Vita.  The PS4 price is $59.99 (with the Special Edition costing $10 more), but the PS3, which has less features, costs $39.99.  The PS Vita price is $19.99.
