Destiny: House of Wolves will showcase on Bungie's official Twitch live stream on Wednesday, April 22, in which viewers will get a glimpse into the new DLC. The House of Wolves release date is set for May 19 on Xbox One, Playstation4, Xbox 360, and Playstation 3.

Beginning at 11 a.m. PST, this event will be hosted by Bungie creative director Christopher Barret. Community member Gothalion will also participate in the live stream. One event highlight includes a visual presentation of The Reef, one of the social spaces to be included.

Meanwhile, a House of Wolves trailer was released April 21. At the start of the trailer, three new ships can be seen landing at the Reef Base. Afterwards, the 33-second video then featured a variety of new features including never-before-seen characters and equipment upgrades.

One character was decked out in Vault of Glass amor with a light level of 34. This suggests that Bungie has raised the current light level from the original 32. Oddly, the game developer has not officially confirmed this change prior to the trailer's launch. Fans may also be pleased to know that there will be an upgrade to the Crota's End helmet.

The official release date for the upcoming DLC confirms leak information leaked earlier in February on Reddit. The one responsible for the leak was apparently a Japanese player who found a variety of new weapons and armor. It is unclear how this individual was able to access House of Wolves months before the planned release date. House of Wolves is the second DLC release following Dark Below, which debuted last year.

As early as November 2014, there has been some indication that Bungie is working on a possible Destiny sequel. This was hinted at the 2014 earning call from Destiny's publisher, Activision. "Work has also begun on future expansion packs as well as on our next full game release," Activision Publishing CEO Eric Hirshberg has said. His statement sparked wild rumors for a so-called Destiny 2.

Since then, neither Bungie nor Activision has revealed any information regarding Destiny 2. Still, rumors of a potential 2016 release for the next Destiny installment persists. It remains to be seen whether this speculation pans out next year.

Despite having mixed reviews upon release, Destiny continues to maintain a loyal following - now more than 9.5 million strong in regards to the number of registered players.
