WWE Rumors and Spoilers 2015: Predictions for Wrestlemania 32, Will Austin Face Off with Lesnar?

Jun 03, 2015 07:17 PM EDT

The WWE rumor mill is speculating on a potential battle between Stone Cold Steve Austin and Brock Lesnar at the upcoming Wrestlemania 32 in Arlington, Texas. The event is scheduled for April 2016. In the mean time, Lesnar's rivalry with Seth Rollins is coming to head.

Rollins had previously cashed in the Money in the Bank briefcase at Wrestlemania 31, which caused Lesnar to lose his title. The following day, Seth refused to participate in a rematch with Lesnar - enraging 'The Beast Incarnate' further. Lesnar lashes out at Seth, drawing cheers from the audience. For his actions, Brock was subsequently suspended.

Brock Lesnar, Seth Rollins Rematch More Than Likely

The Brock Lesnar versus Seth Rollins battle is inevitable, even though WWE has yet to confirm such a match.

According to Bleacher Report, fans would love to see Rollins destroyed in the ring because of his infamous arrogance. The publication also notes that the ongoing feud is a "definite win" for both Lesnar and Rollins.

A combination of fan-enmity against Rollins and Brock's underdog appeal will draw in large number of viewers, which is something that WWE is counting on. Whether Lesnar gets his revenge depends on how long the network decides to milk the conflict.

Stone Cold May Face Off with Brock Lesnar

Before Lesnar gets a chance at Seth, he may need to go through Stone Cold Steve Austin first. Even though details are scarce, tidbits of information were revealed during a podcast conversation between Steve Austin and Paul Heyman.

Heyman asked if Austin wanted to fight Brock Lesnar at Wrestlemania 32. The wrestler said he would beat Lesnar if he wanted to. However, Austin quickly backtracks by saying, "I'm not saying I'm going to, but I think you know how this will go down."

Apparently not satisfied, Heyman eggs Austin on by pointing out the revenue potential for a match between The Texas Rattlesnake and The Beast Incarnate at Wrestlemania 32. Also, the event is scheduled to be held in Austin's home state of Texas.

Even so, some observers have casted doubts on the possibility for such a match. IGN's Matt Fowler pointed out that Steve is just coming out of retirement. So, Stone Cold losing to Lesnar is not really an option. But if The Beast loses to Austin, then the Rollins-Lesnar rematch will be jeopardized. Either outcome will be a loss to WWE. Also, Heyman already has a reputation for drumming up unsubstantiated hype.

Still, it is too early to draw conclusions. So for now, fans will need to wait for more hints and clues that are sure to come in the near future.
