Final Fantasy 15 Release Date Update: Will Not Show in E3, Duscae 2.0 Improvements

Jun 12, 2015 06:37 PM EDT

With Final Fantasy 15 release date coming in 2015, Square Enix has launched the playable Duscae 2.0 demo. The first Episode Duscae demo was released with purchased copies of Final Fantasy Type-0 HD back in March. Sadly, Final Fantasy 15 will not be featured at the upcoming E3 2015 conference.

Duscae 2.0 Improvements

Available on June 9, the second demo features a number of improvements over the first Episode Duscae trialware. For instance, players have reported that Noctis is reacting faster when entering the defensive stance. Prior to this, the character could not avoid blows while fighting with magitek soldiers.

Other changes include the ability for players to battle the large Catoblepas creature, while on a mission to collect rare mushrooms. Previously, the un-patched version did not allow gamers to do this.

Recently, respected Japanese gaming publication Famitsu has just released a list of improvements with Duscae 2.0.

Although the original Famitsu information is in Japanese, Siliconera has thankfully translated the text. Notable features in the new demo include modifications to evasive maneuvering that includes dodge roll. Guarding and evasion does no longer consume MP.

When pressing the left stick during an attack combo, players can change movements midway. Sword attacks can be charge while down the button. Also, the camera is moveable during fights. Computer AI has been significantly upgrade.

Another feature adds the "individual actions quests" that can be suggested by other members of the party.

Final Fantasy 15 Will Not Show At E3 2015

Unfortunately, Final Fantasy 15 will not be showing up to E3 2015. Fans had previously speculated on a possible demonstration of the long-await videogame title.

Square Fenix did feature the game at E3 2013. However, the videogame developer declined to showcase Final Fantasy 15 the following year. Now, it seems that gamers will yet again miss out on seeing the next Final Fantasy at E3 2015.

Happily, Square Enix promised to promote Final Fantasy 15 at the upcoming Gamescom event instead.

According to Gamespot, the game developer will be promoting other AAA titles at E3 instead. Those games will include Rise of the Tomb Raider, Just Cause 3, and Deux Ex: Mankind Divided. Square Enix may also introduce the next installment in the Hitman gaming franchise.

E3 2015, which is also called the Electronic Entertainment Expo, will be held on June 16-18 at the Los Angeles Convention Center. Those interested to attend will need to register through the official E3 website.
