Fallout 4 release date is set for November 10, 2015, according to latest announcement from Bethesda. The next title in the Fallout franchise will be available on the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. However, the game is not coming to the older Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

Fallout 4 Will Run on 1080p

Bethesda Softworks confirmed that Fallout 4 will run on very impressive settings.

"Fallout 4 is 1080p & 30fps on Xbox One and PS4. Resolution and FPS are not limited in any way on the PC," director Todd Howard tweeted on Monday.

In the same Twitter posting, a user asked if Bethesda will confirm the actual PC requirements. The company replied that the system requirements will be announced shortly before the Fallout 4 November release date.

Originally, the rumor mill suggested that Fallout 4 will run on 60 fps. However, the recent Twitter announcement put a dampener on such speculation.

Story Revealed at E3 2015

Happily for Fallout fans, a number of details were revealed at this year's E3 conference in Los Angeles. The game starts just hours before an all out nuclear war begins. Amidst the looming Armageddon, people go about their lives, unsuspecting of the dangers outside.

Players begin by choosing the appearance of a young male and female couple. Choices include hair, nose, eyebrow, mouth, skin tone, and eyes. Unlike other titles, Fallout 4 allows players to sculpt the face using the cursor instead of a slider.

Also, gamers can play as either a male or female character - depending on who stays in front of the mirror. The couple's baby is generated afterwards, and its appearance is based on mom and dad's features.

The family's sense of serenity is destroyed when their robot tells them to look at the news. A grief-struck newscaster reports that nuclear detonation has been witnessed in New York City and Pennsylvania. The couple takes their baby, and runs to the nearest fallout vault. They arrive just as the first nuclear bomb explodes, and the screen fades to black.

Players assume the role of Vault 111's sole survivor, who emerges from 200 years of cryogenic sleep. He or she finds their loved ones missing, and is left to wander around post-Apocalyptic Boston. Throughout the journey, players are accompanied by a loyal dog that helps them with a variety of tasks.

Why Fallout 4 is Not Coming to Xbox 360, PS3

Bethesda's Community Lead, Matt Grandstaff, offered a explanation regarding why Fallout 4 will not be available on Xbox 360 and PS3.

"It [Fallout 4] is not coming to 360 and PS3, the stuff we're doing will never work there," Grandstaff wrote on the Neogaf forum in early June.

Most AAA titles are already optimized for 4K Gaming. When this standard is brought to open-world games such as Fallout, players will need to use higher-performing consoles. In short, older hardware such as the Xbox One and PS3 are simply not up to the task.
