NBA 2K16 Introduces Pro-AM Game Mode

Recently, 2K Sports confirmed that there will be a successor to the popular Crew game mode in NBA 2K16. Dubbed the Pro-Am Game Mode, this feature is an updated version of the original. Last Thursday, the official NBA 2K Twitter account launched a tweet featuring the new Pro-Am logo.

"It's time to get the old band back together," the announcement read. The premise behind Pro-Am mode revolves around a group of friends who form a team. Players can customize their team's jerseys and logos, and design the look of the basketball court.

Matches take place online in a special venue that consists of five-on-five matches following NBA rules. Up to 40 players can participate in the event.

Is College Basketball Being Included in MyPlayer Mode?

ArizonaDesertSwarm recently speculated that NBA 2K16 may include a college basketball segment in the single-player section, which is called MyPlayer mode. This theory came from a recent tweet from ESPN's Darren Rovell, who claimed that 2K has "gotten licenses to at least 10 college teams." The publication pointed out that a full-fledged NCAA game will not be possible due to ongoing legal disputes. Instead, college teams may be added to NBA 2K16's MyPlayer mode, where single players start out playing for college teams before being drafted into the NBA.

Naturally, this information should be taken with a grain of salt considering that it is still considered a rumor.
