Asus launched a handful of smartphones and tablets last week including the ZenFone 2 Deluxe, ZenFone 2 Laser, ZenFone Selfie, ZenFone Max, ZenPad 7.0 and the ZenPad 8.0. If those were not enough, the Taiwan-based device maker appears to have slipped another one; a model that we didn't hear about at the recently concluded launch event.

While Asus already declared the availability of these mid-range devices, the apparent entry-level Asus ZenFone Go, was missing in action. Now, the unannounced handset has prematurely popped up in a listing on Flipkart, an online retailer in India.

The product entry, which was first spotted by GSMArena, does not include pricing and is currently listed as Out of Stock. It also shows that the Asus ZenFone Go sports several similarities to the new ZenFone 2 Laser.

When it comes to specifications, the yet-to-be-released handset is listed to include a 5-inch IPS display with 720p resolution. It is powered by a quad-core Mediatek MT6580 processor clocked at 1.3GHz. That's paired with 2GB worth of RAM along with 16GB of built-in storage. The Flipkart listing mentioned that users can expands the phone's memory up to 64GB using a microSD card.

Connectivity features include dual-SIM card slots, 3G network support (no 4G LTE), Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n. It will run on the latest Android 5.1 Lollipop right out of the box but the software will be layered with Asus's own ZenUI. Keeping things juiced up is a 2,070mAh battery. There are also fancy sensors packed within such as an Accelerometer, eCompass, Ambient Light Sensor, and Proximity Sensor.

GSM Arena noticed that the device depicted in the said listing's photos are actually the ZenFone 2 Laser. However, there a couple of noticeable differences. The ZenFone Go comes with a MediaTek chipset while the ZenFone 2 Laser packs Qualcomm-made processor. The unannounced model is furnished with a less powerful 2MP selfie camera as opposed to the latter's 5MP front cam.

Judging from the spec sheet and the fact that it sports lesser features than the ZenFone 2 Laser, the Asus Zenfone Go might be tagged with a price of under Rs. 10,000 or about $150 USD. The actual release date is not yet disclosed but it could very well be just a matter of days or a few weeks since the device has already visited a popular online retailer.
