PlayStation Plus Free Games for August and September 2015 Updates: Three Games For Vote to Play for Next month

Aug 19, 2015 06:13 PM EDT

Every month, PlayStation Plus subscribers look forward to seeing what free games will be available for the PS3, PS4, and PS Vita platforms.  The PlayStation Plus Free Games for August 2015 have been announced, and now it is only a matter of what is available for PlayStation Plus Free games for September 2015.  It is possible that soon PlayStation Plus subscribers will get to vote on them.

According to Gamespot, the first ever Vote to Play campaign kicked off on 8:30 AM PDT on Thursday, August 13, 2015.  All that is required to cast your vote is from the PlayStation Store's Plus section on PS4, or through the What's New or Notifications areas on the PS4 dashboard.

The choices include Armello, Zombie Vikings, or Grow Home.  According to the Steam Store, Armello is "a grim fairy-tale board game come to life. Full of swashbuckling adventure combining deep, tactical card play, rich tabletop strategy and RPG elements".  Zombie Vikings is described on its official website as "a new co-op 4 player stab-you-in-the-gut-a-thon with a dead funny adventure written by comedic genius Zach Weinersmith".  Then there is Grow Home, new to the PlayStation platform, where the player takes control of BUD, a procedurally animated robot on a quest to save his planet in many interesting and botanical ways.

All three of these games will be making their debut in September, and voting on which ones will be coming to Sony will continue until August 24 at 8:30 AM, with a winner being announced after that.  That winning game will be free for September, and the other two games will be available at a discount.

For August 2015 on the PlayStation 4, players will get a chance to get some AAA action as Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris.  The game is the second of a Lara Croft spin-off series, the first being the 2010 release of Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light.  It plays a little differently than some of the Tomb Raider games, with its cooperative play but there are some good puzzles.

Also available for the PlayStation 4 is Limbo.  This game is a 2D side-scroller, but it has a definite dark tone to it as you play a boy trying to find his sister in a world of dark woods filled full of German expressionistic style.

There are two choices available for the PS4, PS3, and PS Vita.  One of them includes Sound Shapes, which is a side-scrolling game that has a musical slant to it.  One of the things that have made it so popular is the downloadable content (DLC) and the user-created levels.

The other game available for all three platforms is Stealth Inc. 2:  A Game of Clones.  The game is a 2D puzzle platform that is a sequel to Stealth Bastard Deluxe, and it is about a clone that escapes a test facility to find the reason behind the existence of the other clones.

For the PS3 and Vita is CastleStorm, which is described on the Steam store as "a super genre mashup of 2D physics destruction mashed with tower defense brawler".  In this game, you can see castles being built room by room and take part in taking them apart.

PS3 users will be fortunate enough to get their hands on God of War: Ascension.  This game is a prequel to the God of War series, a third-person action adventure game that follows Kratos as he battles his way through very dark Greek mythology.

The information of these games comes through Ubergizmo and the official Playstation blog.  We'll see in September when the free games for Vote to Play get announced.
