The holdout of Kam Chancellor with regard his participation in the Seattle Seahawks drills and games has been causing quite a stir in the NFL team's roster. Without the go-to safety, the team of Marshawn Lynch and Russell Wilson is deemed to be just not as strong as it used to be. As the Seattle Seahawks gear up to take back the Super Bowl crown the NFL team relinquished to the New England Patriots in the previous season, the absence of Kam Chancellor could prove to be detrimental to this goal.

However, the Seattle Seahawks still remain adamant on keeping Kam Chancellor despite the resistance of the NFL star to contribute to the roster's growth - a fact that Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll wants everyone in the league to know. Speaking with King5.com, the Seattle Seahawks head coach disclosed that a number of teams in the NFL eagerly contacted them when news of Kam Chancellor's holdout broke. Should sports analysts hazard guesses on the NFL teams involved, it would probably be safe to say that the New England Patriots, Denver Broncos and Green Bay Packers are more than willing to pay copious amounts of cash to acquire Kam Chancellor.

The issue involving Kam Chancellor and the Seattle Seahawks arose when the NFL star demanded to have his contract altered even before the deal expires. At the moment, the contract extension signed by Kam Chancellor in 2013 would see him spend three more years at the Seattle Seahawks roster. Under this agreement, the NFL star safety would be granted a guaranteed base pay of $4.55 million this year. The next two NFL seasons will see Kam Chancellor taking home $11.9 million as base salary. However, all these are not guaranteed.

"He believes that his value to the team is a lot more than the four-and-a-half, five million that he's making next year," shared former Seattle Seahawks star Michael Robinson, referring to the demand of Kam Chancellor, in a discussion on NFL Network's Total Access Show. Robinson added, "He felt that maybe the deal he might have signed earlier, the deal that he is on, he's worth a little bit more."

The former Seattle Seahawks star went on to say that Kam Chancellor is one of the best NFL stars at this point, thereby validating the safety's demand to ask for higher pay. He said, "People have to understand that Kam (Chancellor) is not only a leader on this defense - he's a team leader." The ex-Seattle Seahawks star added, "He's a guy that Pete (Carroll) can go to and be able to talk to a guy like Marshawn (Lynch). Be able to talk to a guy on the offensive side of the ball to get him straight. He is everything to this team."
