The San Francisco 49ers have been making headlines since the NFL team began training during the offseason. Although a number of players have been signed and traded, the entry of Australian rugby star Jarryd Hayne in the San Francisco 49ers roster caught the attention of fans and followers of the NFL. Since the moment Jarryd Hayne stepped in the field to try his luck at making the 53-man roster of the San Francisco 49ers, the Australian star already had a lot of followers who tirelessly cheered him on throughout the practice sessions.

In the first game of the San Francisco 49ers this NFL regular season, the team opted to send Jarryd Hayne to the field. While the fans and followers of the Australian rugby player applauded the athlete, the cheers did not last long as the crowd watched Jarryd Hayne fumble and fall during the match against the Minnesota Vikings.

Supporters of the San Francisco 49ers watched in horror as Jarryd Hayne failed to catch the ball, dropping it prior to getting tackled in the field. Although his first outing in the NFL proved to be disastrous, the San Francisco 49ers star remains positive on his chances this season.

Meanwhile, Colin Scotts, the second Australian to ever make it to the rigorous NFL routine, saw the debut mishap of Jarryd Hayne as a blessing in disguise.

"I'm glad he didn't rock the world," said Scotts in an interview with Fox Sports following the widely publicized blunder committed by Jarryd Hayne. The former NFL star added, "I'm glad he made a mistake because he's only going to get better. The pressure got to him and he made a mistake, but I promise you he won't make that mistake again. It's the best thing that could have happened - get that out of the way now. I think it's going to be a real blessing in disguise."

Apart from Jarryd Hayne making headlines, the San Francisco 49ers are also currently dealing with the injury of Reggie Bush. The game against the Minnesota Vikings saw Reggie Bush taken off the field due to a calf injury. Sources claim that the health concern may not be serious, but it might require surgery.

At the moment, the San Francisco 49ers have yet to announce how many games Reggie Bush would miss this season due to the injury. With Reggie Bush out, the San Francisco 49ers will have to rely heavily on Aussie star Jarryd Hayne.

The San Francisco 49ers will be facing the Pittsburgh Steelers next on Sunday (September 20). The Week 2 NFL match is scheduled at 1:00 pm ET, with the Pittsburgh Steelers playing host to the San Francisco 49ers at the Heinz Field. Sports analysts predict that the game will end in favor of the Pittsburgh Steelers and with the absence of Reggie Bush, such forecast might just turn real.
