The long-time reality TV hit-show 19 Kids and Counting may be gone, but this does not spell the end of the Duggars. People reports that TLC is gearing up to air the Jill and Jessa spinoff series entitled Counting On.

The new show is scheduled to broadcast by December. But despite the limelight focus on the two Duggar sisters, there's a strong hint that the upcoming series will be very much an extension of the original 19 Kids and Counting  TV show. In fact, the spinoff will have the entire family onboard except Josh.

The report also points out that ever since the hit reality TV series was axed in August, the family, who were notorious for producing almost 20 offsprings, were hit with money issues at the loss of their main income source. The Duggar family are looking to Jessa and Jill Duggar's upcoming show, to shoulder the cost of rearing a huge family.

What's sure to come out in the December premier are Jessa's baby shower, the delivery of her new baby, Jill and her husband's South American missions venture, and perhaps some surprise cameo from Josh himself when the eldest Duggar comes out of hiding from rehab.

The developments have caused a lot to ponder that Counting On had all the elements of a 19 Kids and Counting reboot. Based on spoiler evidence, not much has changed in the Duggar family except give it an exciting new edge should Josh return to the picture.

Nancy Daniels, TLC's executive vice president and general manager, remarked that they would highlight Jessa's first child and Jill and Derricks' missions work in El Salvador.

Realty Today also reports that TLC gave a one-minute preview of the Duggar sisters' new special. In the sneak peek, all doubts of Josh being completely blanked out of the family picture is thrown out the window as Josh becomes the main discussion of the day for the family.

This is not the first time Jill and Jessa have featured in their show. The two had previously appeared in Breaking the Silence, a documentary on sexual abuse.

The Duggars posted on their Facebook page: "We are grateful that the new TLC specials set to air this fall will be sharing special moments with Jill, Derick and Israel on the foreign mission field and following Ben and Jessa as they prepare for the arrival of their first baby!"
