Mortal Kombat X fans expecting to see Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are in for a disappointment, as Ed Boon said none of the turtles will be guest characters in Kombat Pack 2. The co-creator of Mortal Kombat confirmed this information in a tweet last week.

With this latest development, MKX players will not bee seeing Casey Jones anytime soon. Earlier, rumors hinted at the possibility seeing the iconic vigilante from the Teen Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise. Another TMNT character rumored to be appearing is the series' main villain Shredder. Boon's latest tweet indicates that this rumor is false.

Meanwhile, NetherRealm Studios has already added two crossover guest characters including Jason Voorhees from the Friday 13th horror series and Predator from the AVP franchise. It remains to be seen what guest character will be making a future appearance.

In March this year, Todd McFarlane gave permission to have his creation Spawn be added in MKX. When or whether NetherRealm Studio will add the comic book character remains unknown.

Meanwhile, MKX players are waiting for the change to see A.I. characters to be made available to players. Those include Sindel and Rain, who already appear in the game. Old characters such as Fujin has been sighted in the cinematics, but remain unavailable. Other fighters that gamers want to see include old favorites such as the drunken fist Master Bo Rai Cho.

Boon himself fueled the speculation when he released a picture showing the silhouettes of Mortal Kombat's iconic ninjas. As such, the identities of the characters remain a mystery. Fans speculation suggests Smoke, Noob Saibot, Sektor or Cyrax. At least one of the silhouetted figure has a bald head, which means he is not a ninja. Naturally, players leaped to the conclusion that the character was the toothed mutant Baraka. Like Sindel and Rain, Baraka is an A.I. character in MKX's story campaign mode.

So far, NetherRealm Studio has come out with one Kombat Pack, which brought new playable characters to the game. Besides Jason and Predator, that package includes classic fighters Tanya and Tremor. Rumors about Kombat Pack 2 are abundant on the internet. But apart from the occasional tease from Ed Boon, NetherRealm has not confirmed what will be added in the upcoming DLC release.

Last month at around Halloween, Jason Voorhees was released on the mobile version of Mortal Kombat X for the first time. Until then, players await updates on both the console and mobile edition of MKX.
