iPad Air 3 Release Date Rumors, Specs: Will Apple Reveal a New iPad Before Year Ends?

Apple impressed some of the critics of the tech world when they introduced the new iPad Mini 3. However, with the minimal upgrades, people are wondering if the tech giant will issue another iteration by the end of the year.

According to MacWorld, the iPad Air 3 release for 2015 is impossible. The latest that Apple could launch the new product is March 2016. This could be a marketing strategy so the iPad Air 3 would not compete with the iPad Mini 3 sales.

After the release of the iPad Air 2, fans have already looked forward to the next installation of the design series. The anticipation was also heightened after they launched the iOS 9 which is believed to improve the basic navigation features of Apple tablets and mobile phones.

Considering Apple's record on product launches over the past few years, it is highly probable that the new iPad Air 3 will be in line with 2016 events.

Though there were no mentions or hints about the new iPad Air 3 on previews events this year, it is still being considered as a top product by Apple.

Rumors also suggest that iPad Air 3 has been delayed because of the company's primary focus on the iPad Pro.

9to5Mac also indicated that this rumour could be true. Sources from Asia revealed that Apple is focusing on making iPad Pro a success. They want to ensure that their tablet line would survive, and they cannot risk similar products entering the market.

Extreme rumours also suggest that Apple could decide on discontinuing the entire iPad Mini line after they release the iPad Mini 4. Though there are no official statements about this yet, reports suggest that this would depend on how the market reacts on the company's product launches.

On the other hand, iPad Air 3's suggested design is promising. Aside from the thinner style, the new battery could also be a top feature that will boost its success.

Cult of Mac reported that the thin battery will just be 5mm in thickness. This is a big improvement compared to iPad Air 2's 6.1mm battery.

The iPad Air 3 could also have a 7000-series aluminium body like the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus. There could also be color options like Silver, Space Grey and Gold.

Because of the close similarities to the iPhone 6 series, the new iPad Air 3 could just be a bigger version of the line.
