Pokémon GO and Pokémon Z Release Dates; Will February 2016 Be The Time?

When it comes to Pokémon, there seem to be a lot of rumors flying out there.  Pokémon  Z, the projected sequel to the popular Pokémon  X and Y, doesn't seem to be getting any release anytime soon, but it has been expected for a long time.  As for Pokémon  GO, this location-based game was announced last summer for iOS and Android, but there hasn't been a decent release date set on that one either.  This is what we know about the Pokémon  GO and Pokémon  Z release date, and why a lot of signs are pointing to February of 2016.

A recent report from MNRDaily states that the release date for Pokémon  Z could be in February 2016.  Not only that, it states that Pokémon  GO could be released at around the same time.

As we have reported before, most people point to the December 2015 issue of CoroCoro magazine to give details, but there really should be news from that source, considering that the month is halfway over.  Not only that, the December issue of CoroCoro is usually devoted to talking about the next Pokémon movie.

A report from KPopStarz states that CoroCoro's December issue confirmed that Volcanion, the first fire/water type Pokémon will make its maiden appearance together with Zygarde in the upcoming Pokémon  XY and Z movie.

It is possible that Pokémon  GO is in its beta phase, so it is just not ready for a quick release date as yet.  Niantic will have a Pokémon  GO with a winter closed beta test run, and that is apparently as close to a release date as one can arrive at by now.  One wouldn't think that a company could have a closed beta test in the winter and release it in February.

Considering that Pokémon  GO is a location-based game, where the players will be running about to find Pokémon to capture and train, wouldn't it make more sense to release the game in the summertime when the player wants to go outside?  Have it released in the winter will only encourage the players to go out into the cold, which they might not want to do.

Pokémon GO is also going to integrate Bluetooth into the mobile devices, and they will communicate with a Pokémon GO Plus, a wrist wearable that looks like a Pokémon Ball.

Yes, Pokémon fans have a lot to look forward to in the next year, assuming that there isn't more information about Pokémon Z showing up next month.  With Pokémon GO, there will be more revealed as it gets to its official release date, so Pokémon fans should stay tuned.
