The entry of Jeremy Lin in the Charlotte Hornets roster saw a more active presence of the Bible among the group. As the former Los Angeles Lakers star attempts to become an encouraging source of inspiration to his teammates, he also took it upon himself to include the public of this mission. In an email sent to his fans and followers, the 27-year-old star shares his prayers to the community. The latest email titled Jeremy's Prayer Requests 14, the Charlotte Hornets player thanked the Lord for all the blessing he and his NBA team received in the past year.

In the prayer, Lin also quoted Psalm 16:5 as one of Bible verses that helped him through the challenges of life. The scripture reads, "Lord, you alone are my portion and my cup; you make my lot secure." Another Bible verse that greatly encouraged Lin in overcoming his struggles is Ephesians 2:10 which says, "For we are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do."

Lin started off by offering praise to the Lord on the Charlotte Hornets finally discovering a good working dynamic. The NBA star also thanked God for nearing the point of fulfillment in life despite the changes he experienced. Citing the two aforementioned Bible verses, Lin shared that he held on to these Words of God during moments of doubt and anxiety.

He said, "Praise God that our team has started to find a good rhythm! Praise God that I feel closer and closer to a breakthrough regarding being content where God has put me. Please pray that I continue to stay on this path. Psalm 16:5 and Ephesians 2:10 have been helpful verses for me to find and maintain joy, regardless of life's circumstances."

Although the Charlotte Hornets are slowly learning to work together effectively, Lin aims to see all his NBA teammates see the wisdom of believing in the Lord's grace and power. He also sought prayers for the continuous growth of the Bible study group he initiated. Lin started the prayer group with his Charlotte Hornets teammates following his exit from the Los Angeles Lakers. According to the Christian star, his new NBA team showed a "hunger" for knowledge about Christ and His teachings.

"Please pray for our team that the Holy Spirit would soften the hearts of my non-believing teammates and to sanctify the lives of the believers," Lin said. He added, "Also that our Bible study would grow in vulnerability, accountability, and community."

Lin also asked for prayers to help communities overcome adversities. He shared his concerns over the recent events that saw the devastation and ruin in the lives of the victims. Lin specifically mentioned two people who impressed them with their courage to battle their sufferings.

"Please pray for love and peace in the world as there have been a number of events recently. And also please pray for healing of the families and friends of the affected victims," Lin shared. "Please pray for Cathy and Ava, two tremendous individuals that I got a chance to meet personally who are fighting through illness. Please pray for supernatural healing, as well as tremendous peace and joy through tribulations."

The NBA star advised the public to pray for themselves as well. Lin reminded his supporters to find Christ in their daily activities and acknowledge his presence in their lives. He also offered praise for the holiday season and highlighted the importance of Christmas.

He said, "Please pray for you guys as well. Hearing about your prayer requests reminds me how much we all need Christ daily! Praise God for the Christmas season!! We received the greatest gift we could ever receive in Jesus Christ, born to us as a child to die on the cross for our sins and rise from the grave to overcome sin and death!"

Lin ended the prayer with these words, "THANK YOU everybody for your continued support and prayer!"
