The Best Tech of 2015; Surface Pro 4, Amazon Echo, Free Window 10 And More!

The year of 2015 has come to a close, and it is time to think about what technology has changed our lives.  Some tech has made a difference this year, and others are just beginning to make a difference.  Whatever the case, here is the Best Tech of 2015, judged by its usefulness as well as its overall popularity.

The Amazon Echo

Considering that we live in a world where the iPhone has given us Siri for us to ask a question to, it makes sense that that Amazon would just take this digital assistant technology and just put it in our house.  Three editors at PC Mag voted this the number one gadget of the year.

Microsoft Gives Away Windows 10

This year, those on a PC with Windows 7 or higher got themselves a free upgrade.  Even though many haven't done the upgrade as yet, it is good to know that it is around.

The Surface Book Pro 4 and Surface Book

It looks like Microsoft has finally managed to make an iPad killer with this year's version of the Surface.  The 2-in-1 tablet/PC was in huge demand over the holiday season, and it wasn't difficult to see why.

The Toy BB-8

With all the hype that was coming from Star Wars, everyone knew that there would be a lot of merchandise.  The earliest trailers showed off BB-8, a ball-shaped droid with an R2 units head.  Sphero actually created one that Star Wars fans can have at home.

Android 6.0

Always in demand for an upgrade, Google's own operating system was only available on very few phones, but it has shown up on its own Nexus 5X and 6P models.  It is waiting to roll out on all other Android devices like those from Samsung, HTC, LG, Sony, and more.  Android also had some success this year with the Pixel C tablet that still has yet to be released, as well as Blackberry's Priv Android smartphone.

The Apple Watch?

You will notice the question mark that is put on this particular one.  While most applauded Apple for their upgrades of the iPhone 6S and the iPhone 6S Plus, there still isn't any official numbers to verify or not verify that Apple's first smartwatch is truly the hit that it was hyped up to be.

Oculus Rift/HTC Vive/PlayStation VR/Samsung Gear

In all honesty, I should probably be calling this the Top Tech of 2016.  It seems like all of these companies are preparing us for an age of Virtual Reality as soon we will be putting on these VR glasses and shutting the world out.  Expect these to be in demand if it takes off.
