The departure of Chip Kelly from the Philadelphia Eagles had been a shock to several members of the football community. Before the said announcement, the Sam Bradford squad's fans believed the roster to be the product of the coach's revolutionary way of thinking. That is, Kelly's goal was to build a team that is unique and unexpected yet strong and formidable in the field. However, it looks like the former college coach fell short in delivering the promised results. The NFL regular season saw the steady decline of the Philadelphia Eagles and the gradual loss of hope on Kelly's master plan.

Prior to the start of the NFL regular season, fans of the sport saw Tim Tebow attempt to make his re-entry into the world of professional football. The offseason was later on filled with stories of the Christian athlete's journey in his quest to become the third quarterback of Bradford and Mark Sanchez. His efforts, however, proved to be futile as Kelly eventually disclosed that the Heisman trophy holder was to be let go. According to the then coach of the Philadelphia Eagles, Tebow still lacked experienced to be considered a notable NFL star. Hence, Kelly advised the NFL hopeful to rack up experience in the field to become eligible next time.

The decision to release Tebow was met with disbelief among his fans. The athlete was initially thought to be making notable progress in his NFL journey. Sources, later on, disclosed that Kelly might have had a strong influence in the said decision. With him gone, Tebow is speculated to be once again under consideration as a backup quarterback for the Philadelphia Eagles.

According to ESPN, some unnamed Philadelphia Eagles roster members shared their relief over Kelly's departure. Pat Shurmur will serve as the interim coach. Should he start re-evaluating the roster built by Kelly, the temporary coach might want to reverse some of the changes. For instance, NFL veteran guards Todd Herremans and Evan Mathis were released while Nick Foles was traded away to make way for an injured Bradford. DeMarco Murray, who has been long rumored to pose attitude problems, was signed from the Dallas Cowboys. With all these roster moves, it is widely believed that even the unexpected release of Tebow as third quarterback will be reviewed.

It remains to be seen if Tebow will be back with the Philadelphia Eagles. If the rumor mill is be believed, then the Christian football star is said to be garnering the interest of other football teams. The NFL squads that are reportedly looking into signing Tebow include the Denver Broncos, Pittsburgh Steelers and the Indianapolis Colts. Even the Dallas Cowboys are said to be interested in the quarterback following the injuries of star player Tony Romo.
