ISIS is known for their atrocious activities and crimes against humanity. This time, in the perspective of an Iraqi soldier, a horrifying tale of survival and faith is narrated. An escaped soldier reveals the terror group's brutal treatment of Christians.

"They tortured the [expletive] out of the Christians and some died in the process," Sergeant Karam Saad said in a published statement from Independent Journal. ISIS held the sergeant in June 2014.

Saad went on to explain that some Christians were locked in a kind of casket, which was set on fire from the outside. The hostages also experienced slow and painful death, while some were skinned alive.

IS, an offshoot of al-Qaeda, seeks to establish a caliphate in Syria and Iraq. The Sunni terror group controls many parts of the region, and Christians are among their civilian targets.

The group also uses modern tools like social media to promote reactionary politics and religious fundamentalism. They are also known for killing dozens of people and carrying out public executions.

Saad also revealed how he managed to escape from the terror group. He said he escaped by jumping from roof to roof. "In Iraq, the rooftops are flat, so you can jump from roof to roof," he said. "Every once in a while, IS would speed off in their cars in search of more prisoners, and only leave a couple of guards behind."

When he realized that some of the guards were not looking, he stole a spoon and used it as a weapon. Then he went to a bathroom and managed to knock out an IS soldier and put him a rear-naked choke. After that, he made it to the roofs and escaped.

After narrating his horrible experience, the sergeant took a major shot at the Obama administration on the way they handle war against the terrorists.

"The airstrikes are not effective and there are really no functional operations. The coalition is bullsh**! They might get a couple good shots here or there, but for the most part it's not an effective strategy," he said. "In the future, I feel that the Republicans will be more effective to battle ISIS than the Democrats will."

The sergeant had spent a long time in the battlefield, and he noticed that Democrats have "stupid" strategy in fighting ISIS. Moreover, he stressed Obama administration is not taking the fight seriously.

IS terrorists believe that Islam allows them to persecute non-Muslim minorities or even Muslim, who do not want to follow them.

They also believe Islam permits them to rape non-Muslim women and girls. In our previous report, an escaped Yazidi prisoner said most of the women who held by ISIS were used as sex-slaves, and most of the time they are sold for three or four times to different IS fighters.

A guidebook of ISIS says it is all right to beat, trade and have sex with young non-Muslim girls. The booklet also stressed that it is acceptable to have sex with young girls who have not yet reach their puberty "if she is fit for intercourse."

ACLJ has started a petition to U.S. President Obama, the U.S. State Department, and Congress to recognize ISIS' atrocities against Christians as genocide and to provide them with vital legal protections.

As of January 11, 2016, the petition has gathered a little over 125,000 signatures.
