AMC has just released the first four minutes of the midseason premiere of "The Walking Dead." And, just like the ending of season 6's midseason finale, the ending of the four-minute clip is a nerve-racking cliffhanger.

When "The Walking Dead" took a break in November last year, the post-credits scene of the eighth episode "Star to Finish" featured Abraham, Daryl and Sasha traveling back to Alexandria. While on the road, they were confronted by a group of bikers. The leader of the gang then took away all of their guns.

The midseason premiere start's right where the finale left off. It shows the trio completely helpless against the demands of the bikers. It is then revealed that the gang members are the henchmen of Negan, a main villain in the comic book series. According to Yahoo! News, this character will be brought to life in the television series by Jeffrey Dean Morgan.

Although it wasn't revealed in the short clip Negan really is, Abraham's question about him angered the leader of the bikers. He then points his pistols at him and Sasha while Daryl is taken to the back of their truck to show another gang member their other belongings.

The preview ends with the gang leader intent on shooting the two characters.

The clip will most likely kick off the ninth episode in the series titled "No Way Out," which is set to premiere on Feb. 14. As for the rest of the episode, Andrew Lincoln, more commonly known by fans as Rick Grimes, had recently shared his reactions after learning about the events in "No Way Out."

According to the actor, after reading the script for the episode, he fell sick.

"I felt sick to my stomach when I read the script," he told Entertainment Weekly. "It was the first day in the in the whole six years of working on 'The Walking Dead' that I was late for work because I woke up in the middle of night and I couldn't get back to sleep."

"I was so angry and frustrated and I felt sick," he added. "And that was just after reading it."

Lincoln, however, did not go into detail regarding the events in episode 9. But, fans of the series probably already have an idea of what will happen in the show once it returns this weekend. According to Vanity Fair, this may have something to do with an unfortunate accident involving Carl Grimes. This is probably the reason why some fans are calling the upcoming episode a Valentine's Day massacre.

So, while waiting for the premiere of the ninth episode, check out the show's midseason premiere in the clip below.
