‘Fast and Furious 8’ Release Date, Rumors, Cast and News; Will Charlize Theron be The Villain?

When Furious7 was a huge hit for Universal last summer, it was really smart of Universal to green light a sequel for it.   Fortunately, the seventh film of the franchise was able to give a good ending to Paul Walker's character, Brian O'Conner, and Vin Diesel was quite excited to do an eighth film that would be better than its predecessor.  Then there is news that not only will there be an eighth film, but a ninth and tenth one as well.  This is the latest Fast and Furious 8, or Fast 8, Release Date, Cast, Rumors, and News.

One thing that has been rumored is that Charlize Theron will be the main villain in Fast 8, according to MNR Daily.  The acclaimed actress certainly had a lot of experience being a driver in Mad Max: Fury Road, but it could be difficult to get her.  The is also a possibility that Jason Statham will be part of Fast 8, and perhaps he will be a part of the protagonists and not the villain if Theron is going to be the main villain.

At this point, there really isn't a settled cast.  Of course Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, and Dwayne Johnson will be reprising their characters.  There have also been rumors of Helen Mirren joining the crew, but since there are two more films in the franchise, that could happen in Fast 9 or Fast 10

Many fans of the series are very curious about Brian O'Conner.  With the death of Paul Walker before Furious 7 was finished, it resulted in the casting of Paul's brother Cody as a stand-in.  Ron Meyer, who is the chairman of the NBC Universe, has stated that the franchise is not done with O'Conner, says Yibada

Does this mean that Brian O'Conner will be back, with some effects trick?  This might not be in good taste, but there are rumors abounding that Cody Walker could step in as a brother or other relation of Brian O'Conner.  It is possible that Brian O'Conner could appear in flashbacks of some type.

So far, Universal has been very quiet as far as what Fast 8 is about, only that it takes place in New York, and that is because the setting is seen on the poster.  It is pretty understandable why the studio doesn't want any spoilers on this one, as it is their most valuable franchise with the new Jurassic World series.

Fast 8 does have a confirmed director of F. Gary Gray, who directed another action film with car chases with The Italian Job.  As far as the exact release dates, there is an Instagram post that is announcing "2 Decades, 10 Films, 1 Saga" with Fast 8 on April 14, 2017 release date, film number 9 with an April 19, 2019 release date, and film number 10 with an April 2, 2021.
